| Dixon Howell received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, Business Economics and Accounting, from Claremont McKenna College in 1964. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law) in 1967. |
| Mr. Howell originally was associated with the firm of Lawler, Felix and Hall in Los Angeles. He began his practice in San Jose in 1969 and was a founding partner of Howell, Hallgrimson and Rubenstein (later Howell and Hallgrimson), where he initially served as Chair of the Litigation Department and later as Chair of the Corporate Department. Mr. Howell founded the Business Law Group in 1990. |
| Mr. Howell has over 35 years of experience in corporate and business law, real estate law, estate planning, tax law, and civil litigation. He provides wide-ranging experience, seasoned judgment, and a wealth of contacts in the greater San Jose business and legal community. |
| Mr. Howell is a frequent lecturer on business law topics and the author of articles in various publications including the Journal of Taxation and San Jose Business. |
| Among Mr. Howell’s community activities are service as Chairman of the Board, San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Commerce Political Action Committee (COMPAC). |
| Mr. Howell is a member of the State Bar of California, Santa Clara County Bar Association, Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council, Rotary International, Silicon Valley Capital Club, Capital Club Athletics, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club. |

| David Burgess received his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Hamilton College in 1978, with a concentration in History. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School in 1981. |
| Mr. Burgess originally was associated with the firm of Howell and Hallgrimson in San Jose. He became a partner with the Business Law Group in 1990. |
| Mr. Burgess has 25 years of experience in corporate and business law, real estate law, tax law, and employee benefit plans. He is particularly skilled in structuring, negotiating, and drafting contracts for complex business arrangements. |
| Mr. Burgess has written articles in various publications including San Jose Business, In Brief, and the Commerce Advocate. He is the author of three chapters in the book Drafting Business Contracts, published by the California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB). Mr. Burgess also has performed various consulting services for CEB. |
| Among Mr. Burgess’s community activities are service with the Presbytery of San Jose, including membership in the Presbytery’s Permanent Judicial Commission, and the San Jose Family Shelter. |
| Mr. Burgess is a member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar Business Law Section, and the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and an affiliate member of the California Association of Business Brokers. |
